Our mission is to inspire and empower the youth of Monterey County to realize their full potential to become responsible, healthy, productive and successful citizens.
The Big Idea
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County focuses on healthy lifestyles and addresses the wellness needs of youth and their families by holistically helping them build a stronger, healthier and safer community. With food insecurity increasing due to Covid-19, the Boys and Girls Clubs will serve over 200,000 nutritious meals this year. Meals are delivered to low-income housing communities as well as served on-site to youth participating in the nonprofit’s essential child care and distance learning support programs. The clubs collaborate with other nonprofits and businesses to provide hundreds of food boxes to families in need, from Soledad to Marina. Beyond nutrition, the clubs address the physical, mental and social well-being of children through daily fitness activities, cooking classes and counseling services.
The lunches at the Boys & Girls Clubs are my favorite. Everything is always so delicious and I especially like the bars that they put in the grab and go bags right now. I look forward to them every day and they always fill me up so I have a lot of energy to play with my siblings and focus on school!
