BCAG wants to help women with breast cancer as we would want to be helped ourselves.
Breast cancer strikes 1 in 8 women in the U.S. per year, including more than 260 women and men of all ages, races and occupations in Monterey County. Beyond the medical saga, there are financial strains for patients too. Most people who apply for grants from the Breast Cancer Assistance Group (BCAG) are hourly or seasonal workers who don’t have the financial means to support themselves and their families if they need to stop or reduce hours during breast cancer treatment. For more than 20 years, BCAG has been the only local organization that collaborates with local health care providers and social service agencies to help provide financial grants and food assistance to breast cancer patients.
I want to say thank you to everyone at BCAG for everything. Thank you for the Hotel in Soledad. Because of the amazing idea my pneumonia was gone! My health got better and strong for the chemo treatments. Barbara you gave me strength that I could face cancer. Thank you Barbara and BCAG for being my Angel.
