The Central Coast YMCA embraces the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with a mission to strengthen community through programs that develop youth, support healthy living and foster social responsibility. Our vision is to expand our impact by helping more people gain the skills and support needed to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
At the Central Coast YMCA, we’re committed to ensuring all children have the opportunity to grow through programs like swim lessons, youth sports, dance, and day camp, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. While we never turn families away, we’ve seen a sharp increase in scholarship requests due to rising living costs and reductions in public funding that many families once relied on. We are seeking support to provide financial assistance for youth ages 2.5 to 16 and their families so they can participate in these vital programs. These scholarships help working families who are doing their best but still face tough choices. With support, more children will gain access to safe spaces, physical activity, social connection, and skill-building opportunities that set the foundation for lifelong success. This investment ensures affordability is never a barrier to belonging at the Y.
The Central Coast YMCA supports youth and families across the entire county through programs built around youth development, healthy living, and community responsibility. We offer swim lessons, team sports, day camps, after‑school care, leadership programs, and wellness activities for all ages and backgrounds.
53% of participants receive financial support or subsidies, removing participation barriers for low‑income communities, including areas such as Pajaro and Marina.
Our programs foster confidence, teamwork, and leadership in youth. Through aquatic education, family wellness events, and fitness offerings, we promote health and well‑being. We also engage in local outreach and partner with nonprofits to strengthen social ties and support underserved neighborhoods.
Each year, our broad reach touches tens of thousands of lives, empowering children to grow confident and resilient, supporting family wellness, and building stronger, healthier communities across Monterey County.
Thanks to generous YMCA support, my 10‑year‑old could attend camp this summer and my 3‑year‑old joined sports classes. We live on a tight budget, so this help made a real difference. My children loved their programs and gained confidence, new friends, and fun memories
