Digital NEST provides Latinx and all underserved youth with the skills, resources, and network to build and launch successful careers.
This year marks the launch of NEST-gen: the next generation of Digital NEST Salinas youth, programs, and impact. We’re welcoming our second cohort of bizzNEST interns—50 to 60 young professionals building real-world tech and design experience. We’re also introducing our new gold-standard Pathways program model, designed to better guide youth through career exploration and skill development. To prepare for the next decade, youth from all five centers competed to design a fresh brand for Digital NEST—created by the next generation, for the next generation. With new faces, a new brand, and a bold vision, the NEST is entering its next decade with energy and momentum. This will be a movement to empower youth to step into their power, build social capital, and become the CEOs of their own lives. We hope to enlist support from the community to help us reach as many youth as possible to join the NEST-generation!
Digital NEST benefits Monterey County by empowering local youth at our Salinas Center with the technical and professional skills needed to thrive in today’s workforce. Our Salinas center employs full-time staff across departments like HR, IT, Pathways, and bizzNEST, and supports 15 paid youth interns annually.
We offer free programs to 1,000+ Salinas youth that build both hard and soft skills, provide career and alumni services to ensure long-term success, and create pathways to high-growth industries. By collaborating with fellow nonprofits and partners like Hartnell College, we strengthen the region’s ecosystem of opportunity, recognizing that shared prosperity begins with shared investment in our youth. We also support families and the broader community by equipping young people to become leaders and contributors to Monterey County’s economy and future.
Our mission is to ensure that every young person – no matter where they come from – has access to the skills, resources, and network they need to thrive. Building on the NEST's prior incredible legacy, I look forward to working with our team and partners to create even more pathways for youth to achieve prosperity for themselves, their families, and their communities.
