The Epicenter exists to empower at-risk and system involved youth ages 16-24 to flourish by connecting them to community resources that provide opportunities for equity and hope in order to improve youth outcomes in Monterey County.
Foster Success is a transformative short-term job experience program designed to empower foster youth aged 16-24 with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to thrive in the workforce. The program provides participants with hands-on work experience, mentorship, and professional development opportunities in a supportive environment.
I first heard of The Epicenter from a family member who used to work here. My cousin introduced me to this place, I was going through a lot emotionally. My cousin wanted me to have a safe place mentally and physically. She took me to The Epicenter.The Epicenter has helped me grow in many ways. Before coming here I was very shy, I had a hard time making friends, I was very negative, I felt like I had no hope. Once I started my paid internship here at The Epicenter, I became more open minded and social, I was able to meet new people, make friends, and for the first time in a long time I felt like I had a purpose in life. I felt so empowered. I wanted to help others the way The Epicenter helped me.
