MissionOur mission is to provide a caring and stimulating environment where people with intellectual disabilities can achieve their individual goals safely and with dignity.
The Big IdeaGateway Center believes in providing programs that offer customized services that allow for and encourage individual choices. It is our mission to ensure that personal choices, rights and opportunities for integration are maximized for all participants to engage in.
In an effort to expand person centered planning, Gateway offers specialized classes in Art, Exercise and Life Skills. In order to achieve the level of integration that we want to offer, we are required to renovate our existing main kitchen and restrooms that are located adjacent to our Art Room and Exercise Room to become ADA compliant. This will allow all adults, including non-ambulatory participants to enjoy the space.
This ADA renovation project will make a big difference not only in the lives of our residents but any local community member who wishes to enroll in our programs and become more independent and achieve their personal best.
Our family...Dad...Mom and 42 year old daughter Rebecca...has lived in Marina for
almost 24 years. When Rebecca became too old to attend the MCOE school (A.B. Ingham) for children with
severe developmental disabilities, we were very fortunate in being able to send her to Gateway Center.
The day program at Gateway Center has been a godsend for our family. Rebecca has had the opportunity
to interact with her peers in a safe and nurturing environment. Sending her to Gateway has allowed her
Mom and Dad time to run errands, spend some quality time together, and enjoy the Monterey Peninsula.
We think Gateway Center is the greatest.
