Mission

It is our mission to provide financial assistance & other support to cancer patients throughout Monterey County including: educational programs for patients and families with respect to diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer; providing support groups for cancer patients, care givers and family members; and by providing other programs that will assist patients throughout treatment, survivorship, and end of life. We are here to help them in time of need, providing a safety net when it's needed most.

The Big Idea

We will use the funds to provide transportation vouchers, grocery vouchers, rent payments (we have patients living in cars or are unhoused), and other support on an as needed basis. We have also established a hospice house, Jerry's Place, that houses patients at end of life when they have no other place to spend their final days. Jerry's Place is for any patient at end of life, not just those with cancer. The Hospice Giving Foundation has been a great supporter of this undertaking. We are a young foundation with a lot of work in front of us and we feel that we are already making a difference in Monterey County.

I can honestly say I don't know what we would have done without Jerry's Place. The foundation staff provided the support and care for my mom which allowed her to die with dignity.
