Delivering meals, nurturing hearts and nourishing homebound seniors—that’s our mission.

Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley believes no senior should go hungry, so we deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors, 60 and older, who can no longer shop or cook for themselves.

The Big Idea

We believe that no senior should go hungry, so we deliver nutritious, locally sourced meals to vulnerable and isolated seniors throughout the Salinas Valley. In addition, we provide a friendly ""wellness"" check to our clients with every meal delivery as they are often without friends/family.

We've enhanced our meal delivery service by:

-Working with SPCA to provide pet food for pets of our senior clients
-Collaborate with Food Bank for Monterey to provide fresh fruits and vegetables weekly to our clients
-Add more joy to the weekly meal delivery by giving our clients a live ""sidewalk serenade"" by a local musician in collaboration with Arts Council.
-Created our monthly SOCOS/NOCOS socials in King City, Gonzales, Greenfield, Soledad and Castroville to provide seniors with resources, complimentary lunch from a local restaurant, live music, fruits and vegetables and socialization.

We plan on being here for the next 50 years with your help!

The wife of a client was spending her last few weeks with her terminally ill husband as he was receiving hospice care. She called after he died to thank us for our service because it was convenient as it allowed him to eat when he was hungry and it gave her precious time to spend with him as she didn't have to worry about shopping, cooking and preparing his meals.
