Orchestra in the Schools: Inspiring success for all children through music
Orchestra in the Schools creates opportunities for children to experience the joy of learning a musical instrument. Studying music and performance also comes with improvements in self-esteem, social development and teamwork. The nonprofit offers the free use of an instrument, small group lessons, and opportunities to perform in small groups and with a full orchestra. But even full tuition covers only about 30 percent of the cost of doing all of that. The Big Idea, Fill Every Chair, is a program to keep providing that musical education for students of all income levels. Fill Every Chair allows donors to sponsor an instrument of their choice, connecting them not only with the performance, but with the students who benefit directly.
My husband and I had the opportunity to listen to the children during their rehearsal with Mr. Paoletti. It was a wonderful and uplifting experience to see how engaged the children were. Mr. Paoletti is absolutely amazing with all of them! It was the first time I had observed him conducting. He hears every sound and brings each child and their instrument together with ease. It was a treat to experience. We are grateful that our son has this opportunity.
