RotaCare is a volunteer-driven and patient-centered provider of free health care for the uninsured and underserved in our community.
RotaCare Monterey Clinic provides free health care to uninsured/underserved residents of Monterey County. The clinic normally operates out of the Seaside Family Health Center. Our team of volunteers is composed of medical providers (doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants), nurses, physical therapists, registered dietitians, clerical staff, Spanish interpreters and a stress counselor. Patients with urgent and chronic conditions (including diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol) are provided free medical visits, including diagnostic testing through the generosity of Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, as well as medication management, diabetic supplies, continuous glucose monitoring, blood pressure monitors, body weight scales, specialty and social service referrals, all at no cost. Each week a team of medical providers, as well as nurses, interpreters, clerical and IT staff, and the Clinic Operations Manager provide telehealth visits. We conduct telehealth visits each week and in person visits every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
My husband and I have been patients of RotaCare since 2015. My husband has high blood pressure and I am a diabetic. We are very thankful for RotaCare because the doctors have always been very attentive to our care and make sure that we have everything we need. My husband’s blood pressure has improved from the medication and checking his blood pressure regularly. He was given a blood pressure monitor. My diabetes is in better shape with medications and monitoring of my blood sugars. Because of RotaCare we are able to have regular follow ups and we are able to get our labs every three months. We are grateful for everyone at RotaCare. They have the best medical team. Everyone is patient, nice and caring. Anytime we have a question they are just a phone call away. We hope to always continue with RotaCare.
