Set Free Monterey Bay fights human trafficking by prevention education, awareness training, and survivor restoration through long term residential and outpatient care.
Set Free Monterey Bay is the only long-term residential and outpatient restoration program for adult survivors of sex trafficking in Monterey County. We provide safe housing, trauma-informed therapy, life-skills classes, and job readiness training in a supportive, family-like environment. Beyond healing, we equip survivors to rebuild their lives, helping them earn diplomas, reconnect with family, find meaningful work, and achieve long-term independence. We also provide mentorship and support services to under-18 youth in our county who have experienced trafficking and exploitation (CSEC), ensuring early intervention and care. Each year, we educate over 1,200 local youth on human trafficking prevention and train hundreds of law enforcement officers, first responders, and community members to recognize and respond to exploitation. We educate over 1,200 local students annually and train hundreds of professionals, including law enforcement, educators, ER staff, hospitality workers, and fire service personnel, to recognize and respond to trafficking.
