To promote through charitable giving; mutual help, intellectual advancement, social enjoyment and the welfare of the community.
The Carmel Woman’s Club was established in 1925 with a mission of promoting charitable giving, mutual help, intellectual advancement and the welfare of the community. In 2010, we established a scholarship program for philanthropic-minded women returning to college to improve their lives, the lives of their family and to benefit our community.
With seek to grow the number of our annual Women to Women scholarships from 11 to 25 and expand our ability to positively impact the lives of more women by providing financial access to trade, professional certification and traditional college programs.
Our recipients range in ages and come from all walks of life in Monterey County. From younger women pursuing their education beyond high school, to women who are going back to school after raising children or taking breaks to be care takers to family members, we seek to help women achieve their educational goals.
I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel and the difference you have made in my life. Thank you for being a light to students on their academic journeys and a great influence on my own. I have graduated from my registered nursing program with high honors and accepted a position at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. With your support, I will begin my RN-BSN program at CSUMB while concurrently enrolled at Monterey Peninsula College to complete my degree in Spanish Interpretation. My goal is to build a strong nursing foundation, receive my critical-care registered nurse certification and become an acute care nurse practitioner. Your support means the world to me, and has allowed me to achieve my academic goals with far less hardship. I look forward to serve our community, and am determined to give back to others the same support you have shown to me.
