The Alliance on Aging's mission is to provide services and resources that address the challenges and opportunities of aging. We promote independence, dignity, and well-being for the older adults of Monterey County.
The Big Idea
The Alliance on Aging provides services and resources that address the challenges and opportunities of aging. They are currently working on producing a bilingual, all-in-one Covid-19 service guide, specifically designed to connect seniors to assistance unique to their needs. Monterey County’s seniors (there are about 78,200 older adults ages 60 and up) are most vulnerable to Covid-19, and many are already underserved, low-income and lacking in priority and attention. An interactive services guide, delivered digitally and in print, would help them access critical information while sheltering in place, including services that could help save their lives. Currently, there is no one-stop, interactive Covid-19 services guide for seniors.
We are blessed to have the Alliance on Aging in our community because they do care for us seniors. The staff greets you with respect and kindness. I am grateful for the Farmers Market coupons so that I can buy fresh fruits and vegetables and Sec 8 housing assistance so that I can live in peace after working so many years. I thank the Medicare staff for patiently explaining my medication costs and the difference between various drug plan options. This agency has provided me with all the resources that I need and for me to share with others.
