Mission

The Epicenter exists to empower at risk and system involved youth ages 16-24 to flourish by connecting them to community resources that provide opportunities for equity and hope in order to improve youth outcomes in Monterey County.

The Big Idea

We will strengthen the development of our Foster Youth Leadership body (Youth Council) by enhancing recruitment, identifying needs, and setting attainable goals to benefit not only those involved in our Leadership body but all those who are part of the Foster Youth Community in our County. This will be done through an authentic youth engagement model with a strong emphasis on peer mentorship and support.

The Friday Night Live Program of The Epicenter is a positive and healthy youth development program for our communities. Friday Night live has a special place in my heart. Personally, Friday Night Live has impacted my life for the better. I gained many skills such as public speaking, leadership skills and so much more. As a former youth participant who had the opportunity to become a youth staff, I have felt excited to have the chance to help run the program. As a Friday Night Live staff, my goal is to make sure youth get all of the knowledge I have obtained so they can make an impact in our community.
